Material

FKM (Fluorocarbon Rubber)

Fluoro rubber and viton rubber
  • It is a synthetic rubber of copolymers containing trifluoro chloro ethylene and vinylidene fluoride of which more than 50% is is made of fluorine atoms.
  • Its heat resistance allows it to change little in terms of physical properties at 200℃, enduring long-term use, and depending on the conditions, it can be used even at 300℃ or higher for a short period time.
  • FKM is particularly well known for its incombustibility, low gas permeability and excellent climate resistance, ozone resistance, and aging resistance. In addition, FKM has a special property with excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance, and chemical resistance, and it is mainly used with oil or grease containing minerals that require oil resistance, fuel resistance, and chemical resistance.
Application
  • FKM is a synthetic rubber used for special purposes such as defense weapons, advanced industrial machinery, and satellites. It is largely used for special components such as o-rings for closed gas when manufacturing aircraft engines, automotive fuel systems, automotive engine rooms, gaskets and oil seals, fuel system hoses and OA devices, petrochemical plant tubes, and semiconductors.
