Material

EPDM (Ethylene-Proplene-Diene Rubber)

Ethylene propylene rubber (EPM, EPDM)
  • EPDM is a terpolymer made of ethylene, propylene, and diene. EPDM has excellent heat resistance, ozone resistance, aging resistance, and insulation as well as great tensile strength and low temperature properties.
  • EPDM contains a third component, diene, and thus it has a little elasticity in the rubber state, it is a rubber-like material that is resistant to weather conditions and cracks, carrying a feature of copolymer consisting of ethylene and propylene.
Application
  • EDM is a highly economical synthetic rubber that is capable of high loading of fillers, oils, and the like, but it cannot be used together with minerals.
  • It is widely used in automotive weatherstrips and body sealing, tire tube, steam hose, automotive conveyor belt, electric wires, industrial goods, and other electronic, shipbuilding and industrial equipment. It is also used in a wide variety of products such as o-rings, gaskets, seals for window frames, roller covers, and waterproof sheets.
